Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson Airport Guide

Here at PreFlight Atlanta, we have been supporting travelers at Hartsfield-Jackson for over 10 years by providing convenient off-airport parking. With our long-standing service, we have gained extensive knowledge of Atlanta's international airport with every passing year.

Here is our guide on how to navigate one of the world’s busiest airports and some suggestions for enhancing your travel experience when using ATL.

Fun Facts

  • Atlanta is one of the biggest and busiest airports in the US, serving over 104 million passengers a year, or over 300,000 passengers a day, to 150 US and 70 international airports. It makes sense why they employ the most people across airports in the US, with more than 63,000 workers.
  • Atlanta is Delta's main hub, which is why they make up almost 72% of all the flights coming out of the airport.
  • The airport used to be an abandoned racetrack until the founder of Coca-Cola donated the property to become an airport in the 1920s. It was initially named the Atlanta Municipal Airport until the name was changed to the last names of two Atlanta mayors who helped develop the airport more by adding more runways.
