Boston Logan International Airport Guide

At PreFlight Parking BOS, we have been helping travelers make their trips simpler by getting to and from Boston Logan Airport for over 10 years and helping more than 40,000 travelers annually by providing off-airport parking. We have listened to our travelers to help build what we know about Boston's international airport. With what we have learned, here is our guide to everything you need to know about Logan Airport to help make your next adventure easier!

Fun Facts

  • Boston Logan International Airport is a major hub in New England, serving over 30 million passengers annually. It's ranked as one of the top 20 busiest airports in the US.
  • In the 1920s, the site was a military base for the State Guard and the Army Air Corps. The airport was initially known as Jeffery Field until it was transferred to the city of Boston and subsequently to the Massachusetts Port Authority, also referred to as Massport.
  • The airport was named after General Edward Lawrence Logan because of his efforts in the Spanish-American war and lobbying for pilots to receive military veteran status.
  • They filled the harbor around the airport several times to make room for new terminals and larger plane landing areas.
