What to do during a layover at Logan Airport
Layovers can be a great opportunity to explore a new place. But knowing what to do with that extra time can be
hard. And so much depends on how much time you have between your flights. We’ve collected our
recommendations based on the distance from Logan Airport and the average time to get there and back so you can
still get to your flight on time.
If you decide to leave the airport, try to be back at the airport at least an hour or two before your flight so
you can get to your gate. This will also help if you have any delays in your commute back to the airport.

Monitor your flight's status to check for flight delays or changes. If you booked through one airline, your
checked bags are usually sent directly to your next flight. But if you have two airlines, grab your luggage from
baggage claim and recheck your bags before you go. You can also use a water taxi, like Rowes Wharf, which provides
free baggage storage space. If taking a train or subway, you can pay for a storage at one of the stations, such as
South Station. This way, you can avoid lugging your belongings around while exploring. Happy Travels!
